Koi Cloisonne Enamel Earrings
Detailed hand-painted enamel goldfish dangle from freshwater pearls and 14kt gold-filled earhooks. The undersides and tails of the fish, painted in blue, contrast beautifully with the black and gilded detailing.
The gold and enamel surface is very tarnish-resistant. I have held onto these beauties for years and the colour remains unaltered by time.
“Koi”, meaning “carp” in Japanese, is also a homophone for the word “love” in Japanese. Hence these decorative fish are symbols of love and friendship in Japan.
Total length: 6.3cm
These earrings come with a beautiful gift box.
